    Raleigh County man sentenced on firearm, malicious wounding charges

    BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Raleigh County man was sentenced to up to ten years in prison on Wednesday for charges stemming from multiple convictions, including a conviction for Malicious Wounding.

    According to Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Joshua Thompson, 40-year-old Ryan Kelly Bayne-Durgan was sentenced in Raleigh County Circuit Court on Wednesday by Judge Poling.

    The sentence pertained to convictions of Malicious Wounding and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

    For the charge of Malicious Wounding, Durgan was sentenced to no fewer than two and no more than ten years in prison. For the charge of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, he was sentenced to five years.

    The defendant ultimately would be sentenced to a total of no fewer than five and no more than ten years in prison on the charges for which he had been convicted.

    The case was prosecuted by Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Raleigh County, Joshua Thompson.
