A woman in North Carolina is still in disbelief after hitting the jackpot and plans to use her new lottery prize to help out her family.

Gwendolyn Curley , of Raleigh, recently used Online Play to purchase a $1 Quick Pick Cash 5 ticket that landed her a big win, beating the 1 in over 960,000 odds and matching numbers on all five white balls called in the game to win the $120,000 jackpot on Saturday (May 25), according to a release from the NC Education Lottery . She didn't hesitate to call her children to share the exciting news, even if it was the middle of the night.

"I called my daughter then my other daughter then my son because I wanted to tell them all together even though it was 2 a.m.," she said.

She said of her win, "That's a lot of money. I still can't believe it."

Curley claimed her prize at lottery headquarters in Raleigh on Tuesday (May 28), taking home an impressive $85,800 after all required state and federal tax withholdings. According to lottery officials, she plans to use her winnings to pay off her car and to share the wealth with her family.

"I'm going to give my kids and grandkids some of the money," she said.

Curley isn't the only recent lottery winner in the Tar Heel State that has plans to share her winnings with others around her. A Robeson County woman who got lucky with a $1 million prize is following through with her previous statements to help her children "in any way I can" if she ever won the lottery.
