For those seeking behavioral health services in our community, additional options are now available at the WakeBrook Behavioral Health Campus in Raleigh.

Recovery Innovations, previously RI International, officially opened the doors to a 24-hour behavioral health urgent care at the Wake Recovery Response Center at WakeBrook June 13.

This service joins WakeMed’s 28-bed inpatient facility located next door, which has been serving patients since May 13.

“We are dedicated to expanding access to behavioral healthcare and treatment to anyone who needs it in our community,” said Wake County Commissioner Cheryl Stallings. “With these new providers and partnerships, we can ensure that Wake County is a place where everyone can find solace, support and the resources they need to thrive.”

Recovery Innovation’s behavioral health urgent care, located at 107 Sunnybrook Road in Raleigh, welcomes adults 18 and older experiencing a behavioral health or substance use crisis.

RI employs a “no wrong door” approach, meaning adults who are experiencing a behavioral health or substance use crisis are welcome, regardless of whether they walk in, are escorted by loved ones, referred by provider agencies, or transferred by first responders or law enforcement.

More services will soon be available at this location as renovations continue.

“Engagement is at the heart of our mission and the RI Way. Today, as we open our doors, we reaffirm our commitment to serve and support our community,” said Recovery Innovations Chief Operating Officer Joy Brunson-Nsubuga. “In a world where every individual deserves access to compassionate care, we stand ready to provide a sanctuary of hope and healing.”

WakeMed Mental Health & Well-Being Hospital – WakeBrook

WakeMed provides inpatient care and treatment in the 28-bed facility named WakeMed Mental Health & Well-Being Hospital – WakeBrook , located at 111 Sunnybrook Road.

Inpatient care through WakeMed is available to adults aged 18 and older who need intensive yet compassionate care for their mental health and/or substance use diagnoses. Patients come to this location with a physician/counselor referral.

“As the only non-profit facility of its kind in Wake County, our WakeBrook hospital team serves adults with complex mental health needs as well as significant social determinants of health,” said Micah Krempasky, MD, Chief Medical Officer, WakeMed Mental Health & Well-Being. “We are extremely proud of our team members, who have the right combination of compassion and expertise to care for our patients and we are pleased to join our inpatient mental health colleagues throughout the area in this important work.”
