A cloudy and gloomy morning clears the way for a sunny Thursday afternoon

Thursday begins with a damp morning as temps start in the 60s. Patchy fog, some dense spots, will be possible through the pre-dawn hours but should burn off as the clouds break apart in the morning. Thanks to high pressure building to our north, along with a light northern breeze this afternoon, temps will rise into the low 80s under sunny skies.
Thursday evening looks to be an easy commute home with clear skies clearing the way for a nice sunset. The overnight will be followed by a clear start for Thursday night with only a few clouds building in Friday morning. Calm winds will transition to a light southeast breeze Friday morning, this will help keep temps in the low 60s and upper 50s.
Friday starts with a decent morning with temps in the upper 50s, low 60s. A building southeast breeze will only assist with temps getting into the low to middle 80s by Friday afternoon. While the morning will be dry, the prime heating of the afternoon will ignite the chance for a rogue stray shower, but we should enjoy plenty of dry time.
Saturday morning won’t be that bad as clouds build in from the west. By the afternoon, scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will be possible as a cold front gets closer. A few storms could be strong to severe, with gusty winds and locally heavy downpours possible. Our front will cross during the overnight with more chances for scattered showers and thunderstorms possible.
Sunday will start with showers and even a rumble of thunder a good bet as our cold front crosses. We could see a few lingering showers into the early afternoon, but most should start to see some clearing take place through the morning to dinnertime. Temps will be slightly cooler in the low 80s as any lingering rain wraps up overnight.
Monday morning starts with temps in the 60s and with enough breaks in the clouds, some patchy fog is possible. A few clouds in the morning will diminish to a sunny afternoon as another high pressure system moves into our north. Temps are expected to stay on the cooler side as they only get into the upper 70s.
Tuesday will be a fantastic day as high pressure once again dominates the forecast. We could see some patchy fog across our river valleys in the morning with clear skies around. That fog won’t last long as a clear morning gives way to a sunny afternoon as temps push into the middle 80s.
Wednesday should start with another decent morning in the 60s. As we develop a southerly breeze, our crisp morning will turn into the toasty and muggy afternoon with temps pushing into the middle to upper 80s. Can’t rule out an afternoon shower or thunderstorm, though chances look to be hit or miss at this point.
In your extended forecast, our “summertime” weather returns with temps pushing near 90 into next weekend. The heat and humidity will be enough to at least keep a bottle of water around and even an umbrella with the chance for showers and storms through Sunday. Nothing widespread, but a good reminder that summertime storms are back!
