    Are Triangle liquor & grocery stores open on July 4? What to know before the holiday

    The Fourth of July is almost upon us.

    You may have already done your shopping and are ready to fire up the grill and crack open a cold one. But sometimes, even the best prepared host needs to make a last-minute run to the store.

    Here’s your guide to which grocery, retail and liquor stores are open in the Triangle on Independence Day.

    Are grocery stores and wholesale clubs open on the Fourth of July?

    Many grocers in the Raleigh area are open on Thursday, but some have irregular hours or close early.

    • ALDI : Stores close at 4 p.m. July 4
    • BJ’s Wholesale : Open regular hours
    • Carlie C’s IGA : Open regular hours
    • Costco Wholesale : Closed
    • Food Lion : Open regular hours
    • Harris Teeter : Open regular hours. Pharmacies are open 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
    • H Mart : Open regular hours
    • Lidl : Open regular hours
    • Lowes Foods : Open regular hours
    • Publix : Open regular hours
    • Sam’s Club : Open until 6 p.m.
    • Sprouts Farmers Market : Open regular hours
    • Target : Open regular hours
    • The Fresh Market : Open regular hours
    • Trader Joe’s : Open until 5 p.m.
    • Walmart : Open regular hours
    • Weaver Street Market : Open regular hours
    • Wegmans : Open regular hours
    • Whole Foods Market : Open until 6 p.m.

    Are liquor stores open on the Fourth of July?

    ABC stores in Wake, Chatham, Durham, Orange and Johnston counties are closed Thursday , so if you need to stock your bar, plan ahead.

    You can still get beer and wine at grocery stores and convenience stores that are open on the holiday.

    Are Raleigh and Durham malls open?

    Large shopping centers in Raleigh, Cary and Durham are open on Thursday:

    • Crabtree in Raleigh : Open 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
    • The Streets at Southpoint in Durham : Open 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
    • Fenton in Cary : Store hours at the shopping center vary.

    Which national retailers are open? Do stores close early?

    • Barnes & Noble : Open until 7 p.m.
    • Belk : Open
    • Best Buy : Open until 7 p.m.
    • CVS : Open. Pharmacies close earlier than usual, so check your location’s hours online.
    • Dick’s Sporting Goods : Open until 7 p.m.
    • Dollar General : Open
    • Lowe’s : Open until 8 p.m.
    • Macy’s : Open until 7 p.m.
    • The Home Depot : Open until 8 p.m.
    • Walgreen’s : Open. Pharmacies are closed.
