Soggy morning turns drier as we finally see a pattern change into Thursday evening

Thursday a cold front from the northwest slides in finally stirring up the atmosphere a bit. Winds will pick up westerly 10 mph at times with scattered showers off and on. A few breaks will make the errands easier, but take the umbrella with you for those brief heavy rain spells that move in from time to time. Highs are cooler in the mid to upper 70s as clouds will be pretty stubborn at times. Rain fades into the overnight with lows dipping back into the upper 50s and low 60s.

Friday we start to dry out a bit with mostly cloudy skies early on before seeing more and more sunshine throughout the day. A bit breezy at times but not enough to hurt temps that shoot for the low 80s. Mountains towards the east will stick closer to the upper 70s. Our overnight looks comfy with lower humidity as lows drop back into the upper 50s.

Saturday we’re trending drier with a touch more sunshine to help warm us up into the low 80s. A few clouds roll by without much worry for the afternoon with much of the activity far south into the Carolinas at this point. Overnight lows still comfy as humidity levels begin to rise again keeping lows in the low 60s.

Sunday is a fairly nice day with a mix of sun and clouds pushing temps into the low 80s again. Sunday evening looking comfy with lows dipping back into the low 60s again with increasing clouds for the late night hours.

Monday starts drier but increasing clouds towards the afternoon let you know rain chances will grow. A few scattered showers late afternoon and early evening may slow down your evening commute but overall, these will be hit and miss. Highs nudge the low 80s for most.

Tuesday showers increase through the day keeping temps a touch cooler in the low 80s. Minor street ponding/flooding is possible under heavy t-storms in the afternoon. Showers fade some into the overnight but not entirely.

Wednesday morning a few scattered showers remain in a misty fashion for most. Mostly cloudy skies keep temps in the low 80s with scattered showers and rumbles for the afternoon. Storms fade into the night but isolated showers still roam.

In your extended forecast we continue to see chances of scattered showers from time to time as we get back to a more normal summer pattern. Temps remain near average creeping ever so slightly into the “warmer than normal” zone of the mid and upper 80s by the beginning of August. In good news, we look to stay above average chance in rainfall which will help the back half of the growing season and fall crops.
