NC State was Chase Geter’s first Power Four offer. The class of 2026 cornerback out of Ashburn (Va.) Stone Bridge High is quickly building a connection with the Wolfpack after receiving the scholarship in April.

Geter visited Raleigh twice this summer. He stopped by June 1 for the program’s first camp of the year as his recruitment continued to expand. North Carolina, Duke, Syracuse and UVA all joined his offer list since then.

Wolfpack nickels coach Freddie Aughtry-Lindsay is his primary recruiter, and cornerbacks coach Brian Mitchell also plays a role here. The 6-1, 185-pound defensive back appreciated his most recent opportunity to sit down with his potential future coaches. Geter met one-on-one with Aughtry-Lindsay in the film room when he traveled to Raleigh for the Alpha Wolf Showcase.

“He was just telling me the positions that fit my body type and then just telling me how they play their like corners and how they want them to be versatile— playing the slot, playing outside and blitzing,” Geter said.

The cornerback sees an on-the-field fit in Raleigh. His second trip to campus this summer was an important one because, in the smaller Alpha Wolf setting, he took in a more in-depth impression of the program. Talking with the coaches and current players helped with that.

After a brief camp inside Carter-Finley Stadium, the recruits and Wolfpack staff made a quick trip over to the University Club for a relaxing evening. Geter enjoyed playing the EA College Football 25 video game against his brother and other visitors.

The rising junior sat with Aughtry-Lindsay that evening and bonded with the Wolfpack nickels coach, talking about football but also life in general.

“He’s honest, and he knows what he wants,” Geter said. “I feel like he’s good at developing players because his résumé shows it.”

Geter believes the next step in his recruitment will be continued communication with the Wolfpack staff, plus a potential fall visit to experience NC State’s game day atmosphere.

Earlier this summer, the cornerback also visited UNC twice and stopped by UVA. He does not plan on narrowing down his recruitment until after his junior season, but a few ACC programs are standing out to him already.

“Right now, NC State, UNC and Wake Forest are probably leading,” Geter said.

NC State told Geter they like his speed, ball skills, personality and size. Going into his junior season, the cornerback is preparing to play both sides of the ball after recording 37 total tackles and 3 interceptions as a sophomore. The priority prospect is unranked by On3 for now.
