A Brief Analysis of Texas Tech's Big XII Hoops Slate
The Big XII recently released the basketball slates for the teams in the conference, and with that act Texas Tech's hoops schedule has been finalized. Because there are 16 teams in the conference it was highly unlikely the Big XII brass would have each franchise play every other franchise only once--that would have produced only a 15-game slate, which, for financial reasons, was not an option. Instead, each team will play 20 games, with 10 being one-time clashes, and the other 10 being dyads. This means there can be considerable variation in the difficulty of schedules. Unfortunate programs play presumed maulers twice, while the blessed play the Big XII's begonias a couple of times.
