Flowers Baking Co. will shut down its Mid City bakery beginning in mid-September, a move that will put 69 employees out of work in Baton Rouge. Battle over huge new Deer Run subdivision ends with Livingston Parish settling lawsuit
Days before a federal lawsuit was set to go to trial, Livingston Parish has reached a settlement concerning a large new subdivision in the Denham Springs area. Friday’s judgment, signed by Judge Shelly Dick in the U.S. Middle District Court of Louisiana, allows the Deer Run subdivision to move forward and prevents the parish government from enforcing any present or future ordinances that attempt to “retroactively nullify or impair the development approvals and permits previously obtained.”
