Carroll Man Charged With OWI After Striking Parked Car, Tree Thursday Morning
A Carroll man has been arrested on operating while intoxicated charges after crashing into a parked vehicle and a tree during the early morning hours last Thursday. According to the Carroll Police Department, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Carroll and 14th Streets at approximately 12:56 a.m. Authorities say 35-year-old Colby Michael Boell was traveling northbound on Carroll Street in a 2014 Chrysler 200 and veered into the southbound lane, striking a legally parked 1996 Chevrolet K1500. The Boell vehicle then overcorrected after the impact and hit a tree in a yard northeast of the intersection. Boell was taken into custody on the serious misdemeanor charge and transported to the Carroll County jail for processing. The Boell vehicle sustained totaling damage. Officials note the car struck the tree with such force as to snap the trunk off at the base.
