CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ala. (WDNews) – A heartbreaking event unfolded over the weekend as a 3-year-old girl from Georgia drowned in an east Alabama lake. Kinley Nicole Anderson was enjoying time with her family at Weiss Lake in Cherokee County when she went missing late Saturday afternoon. The response to the emergency included sheriff’s deputies, Leesburg Police and Fire, Cherokee County EMA, Cherokee County Rescue Squad, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Marine Division, and Atrium Floyd EMS.
