Randolph County Sheriff's Office opens new substation in Trinity
TRINITY, N.C. — Public safety in the city of Trinity is getting an upgrade thanks to a new Randolph County Sheriff's Office substation. The Sheriff's Office headquarters is located in Asheboro, meaning officers sometimes had to drive over 30 minutes to get to a situation happening in Trinity. The new substation allows officers to stay in the city to work, changing that response time to an average of six and a half minutes.

Repeat offender arrested on drug charges
A man with a long criminal record is back behind bars after being arrested on drug charges, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office said. A deputy conducted a traffic stop on South Main Street, Randleman, on Sunday, and during a subsequent search marijuana and methamphetamines were found, the sheriff’s office said.
15-year-old boy reported missing from Randolph County
RANDOPLH COUNTY, N.C. — The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office has been alerted to a missing juvenile who may have ran away, 15-year-old Joel Vargas-Maximiano. Deputies say that he was last seen on Saturday, at his home on Jordan Valley Road in Trinity. He was reportedly wearing a white shirt, black jeans, white Air Force Ones, a gray Aeropostale jacket, carrying a blue book bag, and a panda bear stuffed animal.
Vietnam Wall replica coming to the Triad
The Wall That Heals, a three-quarter scale touring replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., will be on display later this week in the southern Triad. First, the traveling wall was scheduled to stop Tuesday morning at Archdale’s Creekside Park in northwestern Randolph County, and a motorcycle procession led by Vietnam veterans was to escort the wall to South Asheboro Middle School.
