RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — Police are investigating after a car crashed into multiple yards before nearly hitting a home in Randolph County. Ramseur police said the crash started at Park Street where the driver exited the roadway on Hwy 64, ran up on the curb, and drove through multiple yards before coming to a stop in front of a house on the 6400 block of Jordan Road.

RANDOLPH COUNTY — The first day for candidate filing in the Archdale and Trinity municipal elections got off to a brisk start Friday. Six candidates filed for seats in the northern Randolph County cities. Archdale Mayor Lewis Dorsett filed for another two-year term. THOMASVILLE — A Thomasville man died in a one-car accident in northwestern Randolph County last week, the N.C. State Highway Patrol said. Eddie Wayne Fouts, 56, was driving a 1999 Ford Explorer west on Little Uwharrie Road near Kennedy Farm Road southeast of Thomasville on July 4 when he went off the road to the right and down an embankment, and the Ford overturned into Brier Creek, the Highway Patrol said.
