    Randolph Residents Hailed As Heroes For Lifesaving Actions At Local Little League Game

    RANDOLPH, NJ- In a remarkable display of quick thinking and bravery, Randolph residents Beth Liquore and Kristen Markowitz saved the life of a young boy during a Little League baseball game at Freedom Park on June 10, 2024.

    During the game, a young player was tragically struck in the chest by an errant pitch, causing him to collapse. Witnesses to the event, Beth Liquore and Kristen Markowitz, immediately rushed to the boy’s aid, recognizing the severity of the situation. They found the child unresponsive, with no detectable heartbeat or pulse, and sprang into action, performing CPR in a critical bid to save his life. While administering life-saving chest compressions and rescue breaths, they also directed onlookers to call emergency services and retrieve a defibrillator.

    Thanks to their timely and skilled response, the child was successfully resuscitated before the arrival of emergency medical services. The child has since been recovering with his family, turning what could have been a tragic day into one of hope and gratitude.

    Mayor Christine Carey and the Randolph Township Council hereby extended a proclamation in honor of Beth Liquore and Kristen Markowitz for their heroic actions. “Their courage and quick response exemplify the highest ideals of humanity and community. We are incredibly proud and thankful to have such inspiring individuals in our township,” said Mayor Carey.

    Beth Liquore and Kristen Markowitz’s actions not only saved a young life but also served as a profound reminder of the impact compassionate, decisive actions can have on the lives of others.
