DNR investigating two Wisconsin fish kills that could be the result of heavy rains
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is investigating two separate fish kills discovered recently in south central Wisconsin, and the culprit could be heavy rains. A large group of dead fish was reported to the agency July 10 in Buffalo Lake, which is in Marquette County. The other was on the Yahara River in Stoughton, which links the lakes in and around Madison and eventually drains to the Rock River, then the Mississippi.

Beaver Dam High School has hired John and Michael Pryme as their new boys swimming co-head coaches. “I am excited to announce John and Michael Pryme as our new head boys swim co-head coaches at Beaver Dam High School and welcome them to our department. They have come to us having served as coaches for the Sea Dragons program at the Dodge County YMCA and eager to build back boys swimming at Beaver Dam High School. They are committed to Beaver Dam as a community, school, and athletics department, having grown up in our community as well as returning to take jobs here. Their lineage in the boys swim program goes back to their father who served as boys swim coach also. They share the values of our athletics department of hard work, commitment to excellence, and above all, providing a first class experience for our kids. I have every confidence that they will build back this program and embrace the exciting opportunities that lie ahead. I look forward to working with John and Michael in the coming days, weeks, and months, in building towards an exciting new era in Beaver Dam swimming.”

Man killed in July 16 motorcycle crash in Pleasant Springs
A man is dead following a motorcycle crash in the Town of Pleasant Springs on the evening of Tuesday, July 16. According to a Dane County Sheriff’s Office news release, at 6:58 p.m., a citizen walking in the area of Tower Drive near Erdahl Drive in the Town of Pleasant Springs found an unresponsive male lying in the ditch. In a nearby field was a 2000 Harley Davidson Trike.
New ALDI location opening in La Crosse
