Mosquito pools in Dawson, Blaine, Prairie and Wibaux counties have tested positive for the virus, marking the initial detection of WNV in the state this season.</p><p>Specifically, in Dawson County, seven mosquito pools were collected from the vicinity of Bad Route Road. Of these, three pools tested positive for West Nile Virus. This is the first confirmed presence of WNV in mosquitoes for Dawson County this year. Dawson County’s mosquito control program will be increasing spraying in the upcoming weeks.</p></div></body>
