Police identify victims of Friday’s central Pa. fiery four-vehicle accident
TURBOTVILLE — Men from Lewistown and Williamsport have been identified by state police as the victims of a fiery four-vehicle accident in Montour County on June 28. Pronounced dead at the scene were Homer S. Rice, 55, of Lewistown, and Robert W. Sholder Jr., 39, of Williamsport, two of the drivers.
Possible cause determined for Snyder County house fire
Middleburg, Pa. — A fire that broke out last week at a Snyder County home was likely due to a possible electrical malfunction and careless smoking, police say. State police fire marshal Nathan Birth investigated after responders arrived to the scene shortly before 3 a.m. June 25 at the home at 8301 Route 522 in Franklin Township. Three people were transported to local hospitals for treatment for smoke inhalation, according to a police report from Birth. One of the individuals had moderate to severe injuries. The individuals have since been released from the hospital. Though Birth stated possible causes of the fire, the official cause remains undetermined. Citizens Hose Company in Middleburg responded to the scene.

A 29-year-old Pottsville man was sentenced Monday in federal court to 84 months in prison for conspiracy to commit robbery.
