The Main Scoop ice cream shop opens new location in Rantoul

RANTOUL, Ill. (WCIA) — The Main Scoop Ice Cream Parlor is opening its fourth Central Illinois location in Rantoul.

The Mahomet-based shop quickly became a community staple after first opening its doors in 2021. In 2023, they established two more locations in Monticello and Urbana .

Now, The Main Scoop in Rantoul will officially open its doors at 2 p.m. on Wednesday. It will be located at 812 Broadmeadow Road.

Staff said the grand opening will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony and some limited-time specials. Activities are also planned for the next few weeks, so Main Scoop staff asks to stay tuned for details.

Summer hours will be:

Monday – Thursday: 2 to 10 p.m.
Friday – Saturday: Noon to 10 p.m.
Sunday: Noon to 9 p.m.
