Community Spotlight: Charity Golf Outing for Community Service Center of Northern Champaign Co.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — The Community Service Center of Northern Champaign County is a nonprofit that helps provide services and programs to those in need. On July 26, they will be holding their annual Charity Golf Outing in Rantoul.

Cindy Crawford discussed it with WCIA’s Matthew White for Tuesday’s Community Spotlight.

The center has two food pantries: one for Rantoul Township High School students, and the other for the wider Champaign County community. They also offer an after-hours food pantry and delivery services. In addition, limited utility and prescription assistance is available, and each year they hold a toy drive in partnership with Salvation Army.

The center also holds their Charity Golf Outing every year to help raise funds and keep their services going. This year’s outing will be on Friday, July 26 at Willow Pond Golf Course in Rantoul.

Registration will last from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. The shotgun start will go off at noon.

Crawford said the event will include a putting contest and a “Betcha Can’t Hit the Green,” where players can win cash for landing on the green in one shot.

Preregistration ends in just 10 days on July 19. You can register online or at the Community Service Center located at 520 East Wabash Avenue, Suite 1 in Rantoul.
