Pa. winery closing down, with part of the property for sale for $2M
Maple Springs Vineyard, one of the top producers of quality wine in the state, will for all intents and purposes close at the end of July. Owner Marianne Lieberman confirmed on Wednesday that parts of her property at 91 Nuss Road in Bechtelsville, Berks County, were recently put on the market for $1.995 million.
Dauphin County detective, 42, dies while off duty
A detective with the Lower Paxton Township Bureau of Police died while off duty, the department announced on Wednesday. Steven Wertz, 42, was a member of the Lower Paxton Township Bureau of Police for 18 years and was assigned to the criminal investigations section in October 2021, the release said.

Suspects identified in July 3 stabbing that injured one person in Harrisburg
HARRISBURG, Pa. — Police have arrested two suspects in a stabbing that left one person injured earlier this month in Harrisburg. Placido Rodriguez-Santiago, 42, and Omar Rodriguez-Santiago, 43, are both charged with simple assault and terroristic threats in connection to an alleged stabbing that occurred on July 3 on the 1600 block of Revere St. in the city.

Rabid fox in Selinsgrove, two confirmed bites
Selinsgrove, Pa. — Two people were confirmed to have bitten by a fox suspected to be rabid in Selinsgrove yesterday near the East Snyder Community Garden. In the morning on Wednesday, July 24, the East Snyder Community Garden posted that "someone in Harris Estates was bitten by a fox today." This morning, the garden posted an update stating "three people have been bitten–one seriously" by the fox. PA man sentenced to nearly 50 years in prison for attempted murder of FBI agents
On Wednesday, July 24, United States District Court Judge Joseph F. Leeson sentenced 41-year-old Rafael Vega-Rodriguez to pay over $5,000 in fines, as well as serve 45 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release for shooting at and attempting to kill three FBI special agents.

Amir Jones Wanted For West Philly Mass Shooting: Police
Amir Jones, 30, was last seen wearing camouflage shorts and a white T-shirt, authorities said in a release. The shooting happened around 2 a.m. on the 1200 block of North Alden Street in Carroll Park, PPD said previously. Three people were killed — 23-year-old Sekayi Robinson and brothers Akil and Rashie Jones, 33 and 29.
