In the fall of 2020, Osceola lost a friend in Rick Courcier. At the young age of 37, after a long battle with cancer, Rick passed, leaving a legacy of community dedication and impacting each and every person he’d met. Glenwood interim superintendent arrives at 'destination district'
(Glenwood) -- New leadership is on board in the Glenwood School District. Nicole Kooiker took the helm as the district's interim superintendent earlier this month. Kooiker comes to Glenwood from the Cedar Rapids School District, where she served as deputy superintendent as well as an administrator at Roosevelt Middle School from 2020 until June 30th. Prior to her time in Cedar Rapids, she was superintendent and chief executive officer in the Ottumwa School District from 2016-2020, and before that, superintendent in the West Marshall district from 2013-16. She also served as a teacher and principal prior to her superintendent roles. Speaking on KMA's "Morning Line" program Monday morning, Kooiker says she considered Glenwood "a destination district."
