DES MOINES, Iowa — When Jamie Adkins told his wife Jennifer that he was interested in buying a state fair concession stand, she wasn't sold on the idea. "In the past, there hasn't been a lot of breakfast vendors on the fairgrounds, and we wanted to do something different," Jamie said. Bloomfield City Council holds public hearing on residential living on the square.
Tonight at the Bloomfield City Council meeting, a public hearing was held on the prospects of changing a city ordinance allowing residential living on the first floor of the square. Currently the ordinance allows residential living in the back half of the building as long as it’s less than 50% of the floor space.
