Booze bandits steal $5,000 worth of alcohol from Ephrata store
EPHRATA - Ephrata Police Chief Erik Koch says its the most alcohol he's ever seen stolen during his time on the force. Authorities say two booze bandits managed to walk about of the Ephrata Safeway store at around 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. with two grocery carts full of alcohol unnoticed. The total worth of the alcohol tallied $5,000. External security cameras were unable to capture the getaway vehicle used to transport the loot. Physical descriptions of the perpetrators are limited to the security photo taken inside the story. If you think you saw culprits, contact the Ephrata Police Department at (509) 754-2491.
Suspect arrested three times over two days in Union County
UNION COUNTY — A Spokane Valley man has been arrested following a series of incidents involving trespassing and vehicle theft in Union County. George Wayne Brooks, 51, was first arrested on July 9, after unlawfully entering the Oregon Department of Transportation weigh station building near milepost 258 on I-84 eastbound. According to Oregon State Trooper Eric Madsen, Brooks was taken into custody and lodged at Union County Jail on a charge of Criminal Trespassing II.
