Pipestem State Park offers new summer fun
People looking to beat the summer heat wave may want to take a drive to Pipestem State Park. Pipestem Adventures has upgraded the fun you can have at the lake. “We’ve kinda re-configured the lake toys and the lake feature.. We’ve always had the huge big inflatables. ... But we’ve made some obstacle courses this year. We find that people like to be competitive. And so we’ve had those long runs now that have things you gotta - climb through, go around and compete with your friends and it’s been a big hit,” Paul Buechler CEO of Pipestem Adventures said.

Sunny and hot weekend; rain returns next week
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - The cold front that’s caused a bulk of this week’s precipitation has sagged to our south, slowly taking the rain, clouds, and humidity with it. By sunset tonight, most rain will be cleared. Some patchy AM fog in areas that saw precipitation today is likely. Friday afternoon will be mostly sunny and seasonable with comfortable humidity (a few stray showers are possible in the highest elevations in the late afternoon/evening, however). Saturday and Sunday will be much warmer, potentially reaching 90 degrees in the lowlands each day. Humidity will increase a bit, but won’t be oppressive. However, at the start of the new work week, an approaching system will increase our chances for heavy rain and thunderstorms, and will also increase our humidity. So, even though air temperatures won’t be as high next week, expect it to feel fairly muggy. Any and all rain is welcome at this point-- West Virginia is one of only two states in the country with 100% of the state being under some level of drought (the other is South Carolina). Hopefully next week’s rain, which is expected each day of the week, will be soaking enough to relieve us of some of these extremely dry conditions.
