Later, the owners of Guido's asked if it could expand its outdoor patio to overlook the park area. </p><p> The structure once housed Acme Cash Basket grocery store. Historians have hailed the "Art Deco" façade that adorned the building when it was constructed in 1920. </p><h2 class="presto-h2 wp-block-heading"> Guido's patio opens </h2><p><a href="https://www.record-courier.com/story/news/local/2023/06/11/ravenna-leaders-debate-guidos-proposal-vacant-downtown-lot-outdoor-patio/70256992007/" rel="nofollow"> Guido's Pizza and Catering </a> recently opened its expanded patio, which now wraps around the corner of the building. "It happened to be a beautiful day and there were about 30 people who were able to sit together. It worked out just fine." </p><p> The restaurant is considering adding pull-down shades at the end of the patio, based on customer feedback about having the sun in diners' eyes in the evening. </p><p> "Obviously, in the months we're able to use it, it should help out big time," he said. "It's definitely a dramatic transformation." </p><p> Guido's also put some windows on its second floor, to improve the look of the area above the patio, Hutchinson said. </p><p> "We wanted to make the side of the building match the front," he said. </p><h2 class="presto-h2 wp-block-heading"> Pocket park progress </h2><p><img src="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?type=thumbnail_580x000&amp;url=4GUZfk_0un8qpeg00" alt="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=4GUZfk_0un8qpeg00" width="1500" height="1124" ></p><nbtemplate data-id="AdPlaceholder" data-content="JTdCJTdE"></nbtemplate><p> On Friday, a crane brought some of the final pieces of the pocket park. </p><p> The machine helped erect the second trellis and arches over the park. Arches that once stood at each end of North Park Way have been relocated and now stand over the concrete pad that will serve as an amphitheater for bands. Architect Ted Manfrass said he is looking at adding an awning to protect performers from rain. </p><p> Except for final touches, including LED lighting at the arches, two swings at the front arches and benches, NDS's portion of the work is done. The city also has work to do, including resurfacing the alley and putting in four parking spots behind the park. </p><p> A plaque detailing the history of the site will be placed on the stone along Main Street. It is expected to be placed in about two weeks, Manfrass said. </p><nbtemplate data-id="AdPlaceholder" data-content="JTdCJTdE"></nbtemplate><p> "It's a nice park," Manfrass said. "It opens up the theater to downtown.
