Former President Donald Trump shared Thursday what appeared to be a private diplomatic message from the leader of a war-torn foreign nation, shocking viewers in the process.

Trump posted a screenshot on Truth Social of a message that he suggested had come from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy by way of Denys Sienik, deputy ambassador of Ukraine.

"Would you please be so kind to pass this message from President Zelenskyy to [former] President Trump," the message opens. It then continues, "Dear Donald, I hope you're doing well."

Zelenskyy on Thursday met with Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, and President Joe Biden to make the case for Ukraine, a U.S. ally, amid its war with Russia.

Trump earlier this week hurled insults at the Ukrainian president by calling him "the greatest salesman on Earth" for requesting U.S. aide in his nation's battle against the hostile foreign nation.

But on Thursday, Trump announced he would meet with Zelenskyy and shared the seemingly private message on his social media site.

"All of us in Ukraine want to end this war with a just peace," the message reads. "And we know that without America this is impossible to achieve. That's why we have to strive to understand each other and remain in close contact."

The missive includes a personal compliment — "I always speak with great respect about everything connected to you, and that's how it should be" — and is signed, "Sincerely, Volodymyr."

Journalist Yashar Ali soon shared the message on X and suggested it had come from a "Trump staffer or other intermediary."

Democratic Party Chair Jaime Harrison was shocked.

"Dangerous … reckless … and juvenile!" he wrote. "Posting private messages from world leaders is one of the most unpresidential actions I have ever seen."

MSNBC anchor Symone D. Sanders Townsend agreed, adding, "Donald Trump posting a private message from a world leader on his social media account is very reckless, crazy and the OPPOSITE of how to actually conduct diplomacy."

Well, what do you expect from the guy who posted top secret photos to twitter after they explicitly told him not to the last time he was President?
