'Propaganda': Trump adviser fumes as Fox News airs Hurricane Milton briefing

Former President Donald Trump's senior campaign adviser was furious that Fox News updated Americans on a deadly hurricane barreling toward the nation's southern coast.

Chris LaCivita shared bitter complaints on X Wednesday afternoon that the conservative news network opted to air a Biden administration briefing on preparations for Hurricane Milton hours before its expected landfall in Florida.

"[Fox News] just as bad as every other 'cable news' network," LaCivita wrote . "Running literally propaganda and [Vice President Kamala Harris]⁩ TV ads disguised as a news conference."

During the news conference, President Joe Biden briefed the nation on facts about the storm that forecasters believe will hit the coast in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Biden informed Americans that winds will blow at more than 100 MPH, storm surges could reach 15 feet and the skies could drop 18 inches of rain — and thanked those who left their homes behind to flee.

"I want to thank everyone who has followed local guidance to evacuate ahead of the landfall — I know it's really tough leaving behind your home, your belongings, everything you own," Biden said. "It's a matter of, literally, a matter of life and death."

The president briefed Americans on preparation plans that include the deployment of search-and-rescue teams, generators, ambulances food and water.

Biden detailed outreach made to southern leaders — Republicans and Democrats — whom he thanked for their efforts to protect citizens from the effects of hurricanes Milton and Helene.

The president also delivered a political message aimed at politicians such as Trump, who falsely claimed homeless Helene victims could expect no more than a $750 check , and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who recently claimed that the government " controlled the weather ," whom Biden argued put lives at risk.

"It's harmful to those who need help the most," Biden said. "Moments like this, there are no red or blue states, there's one United States of America where neighbors are helping neighbors, volunteers and first responders are risking everything, including their own lives, to help their fellow Americans."

Harris then issued an address, promising scaled-up relief efforts in Florida, where Milton is predicted to hit, and urging locals to trust in their state government.

"The bottom line is this hurricane poses an extreme danger and we urge everyone in Florida to take extreme caution," Harris said. "We are with you and we will get through this together."

LaCivita's complaint that this press briefing constituted biased propaganda spurred outrage from followers, among them conservative commentator Tim Miller.

"Trump campaign unhappy that Fox is airing news about the hurricane response," he wrote , "rather than delusions about how the government is sending needed recovery resources to cat eating migrants."
