'Chaos monkeys': Ex-GOP strategist warns what will ensue if Trump wins

Metaphorical monkeys of pandemonium will be armed and ready to throw — not a party — if former President Donald Trump wins the election in November, according a concerned conservative.

This graphic assessment comes from the Lincoln Project co-founder Rick Wilson in a new Salon editorial from Republicans who have vowed "never Trump" and throw support behind Vice President Kamala Harris.

"If Harris wins, democracy and respect for individual rights and the rule of law will continue," Wilson wrote. "If Trump wins, it will be chaos monkeys flinging poo everywhere."

The former Republican strategist ticked off a slew of problems he has with the former president and Republican nominee, among them an "addled brain" and a "racist agenda."

Wilson expressed hesitant optimism about a Harris campaign he described as energized, well-funded and powerful. Then, like chaos monkeys with their "poo," he threw shade at Trump campaign advisers Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita.

"LaCivita and Wiles were completely unprepared for Harris’ nomination and Trump himself has been weak and dithering in responding," wrote Wilson. "He’s clearly afraid of a strong woman and she crushed him in the debate."

Wilson tied Trump's popularity among Republicans to what he described as the former president's ability to stir and frighten a crowd with his false information and bigoted rhetoric.

Should enraged MAGA supporters succeed in either winning the race or overturning the loss, Trump would respond by bringing with him into the White House a team of havoc-wreaking advisers, Wilson concluded.

"People like Stephen Miller and Eric Schmitt will encourage Trump’s worst and most despotic ideas," Wilson wrote. "We will see the destruction of democratic norms that we’ve only seen overseas."

Republicans stop posting comments. If your candidate wins the press will be controlled as with any dictator. These comments forums wil, not be available anymore, yer voting against them. Yer not welcome anymore. Leave leave for good. It’s by your own doing.
