Donald Trump's lawyers went to court again to ask the judge not to reveal additional evidence against him as the election fast approaches.

In a court filing posted on Thursday , Trump asked Judge Tanya Chutkan to keep any further evidence against him in the criminal case involving election interference under wraps from voters until after they go to the polls.

"This has not persuaded the judge in the past," wrote Politico reporter Kyle Cheney on X.

A CNN fact check stated, "There is no Justice Department rule or regulation that says a candidate can’t be prosecuted during their election campaign, as three former federal prosecutors confirmed to CNN."

The policy that is on the books says that no federal prosecutors or agents can "select the timing of any action, including investigative steps, criminal charges, or statements, for the purpose of affecting any election, or for the purpose of giving an advantage or disadvantage to any candidate or political party."
