'Absurd': Mike Johnson blasts 'embarrassing' TV news for chasing Trump's medical records

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) spent Monday night attacking broadcast news journalists — calling them "in-kind contributions for Vice President Kamala Harris — as he defended former President Donald Trump's decision not to reveal his medical records.
Fox News host Laura Ingraham played a clip on her show of Johnson's appearance on "Meet the Press " in which Johnson tells the interviewer it's "unnecessary" for Trump to release his medical records because "he's on display every minute."
"You don't want to know things like his cholesterol level, whether he's dealing with any issue that we may not know about if he's going to be commander in chief?" asked host Kristen Welker. "He also said he'd release cognitive tests which he aced. Should he release that?"
The clip became the topic of discussion on Monday night, as Ingraham jabbed that the clip was "embarrassing."
"It is embarrassing," said Johnson. "It would be comical if it were not so serious, Laura. The broadcast news stations ought to be required to file paperwork now. They're giving in-kind contributions with all their air time for the Kamala Harris campaign. They're trying to prop her up and of course, they're trying to diminish our nominee Donald Trump. And it's absurd."
Johnson said he's mostly asked about Jan. 6, 2021, and the 2020 election — issues he said Americans don't care about. Rather, he said, people care about the economy, crime and the border crisis.
When Ingraham said the media has no coherent answer to covering Venezuelan gangs taking over apartment buildings in Aurora — a hoax perpetuated by former President Donald Trump and disputed by local law enforcement and officials — Johnson said this is why "Americans don't trust the mainstream media anymore."
"They're messing with the wrong marines when they get J.D. Vance on the air or somebody like me," he said. "I mean, I know what I'm talking about. J.D. knows what he's talking about."
Johnson's comments come after Trump last week amplified his calls to have CBS investigated for its editing choices in an interview with Harris.
Trump declared that the development is "totally illegal" and demanded the government " take away the CBS license ."

This is what the Republicans thought about Biden but all you Democrats fought it and said Joe was good as gold and mentally fit and there was no reason for any of this. Well look where we are now. Why should Trump release anything when Biden wouldn’t do it ? The entire country knew you were lying so now you can suck it up and deal with it. Hell, maybe he does have issues and once he’s elected he will step aside and Vance will be the next POTUS.
