With the election less than three weeks away, Vice President Kamala Harris has reportedly directed her campaign to "sharpen" its attacks on Donald Trump using their most potent weapon: using his own words to alarm voters even more .
According to a new report from the Wall Street Journal, as Harris' packed rallies that are getting more and more coverage from the major networks, attendees and viewers can expect to see more and more clips of Donald Trump's verbal gaffes , threats of violence and the i ncoherent rambling that he defends as the " weave ."
According to the Journal's Ken Thomas and Tarinim Parti, Harris recently told a rally crowd, "He tells us what he would do if he is elected president," before instructing her people, "Please roll the clip" which allowed the audience to see Trump say, "that 'those people are more dangerous, the enemy from within, than Russia and China,' and railed against 'radical left lunatics' who might need to be handled by the National Guard or the U.S. military."
Harris then followed the clip with, "He considers anyone who doesn’t support him or will not bend to his will an enemy of the country—it’s a serious issue. He’s saying that he would use the military to go after them. Think about this!”
According to the report, during the next few weeks Harris and her people will turn up the heat on the former president who has been providing them with fodder for attacks on an almost daily basis.
"Harris, a former prosecutor and California attorney general, has told aides that she wants to use the clips as a way of presenting 'evidence' as she makes her closing argument against Trump, people familiar with the conversations said,' the Journal is reporting before adding, "One of the people said there is nothing more powerful than to simply use Trump’s own words to make that case. Harris has also been encouraging voters to watch Trump’s rallies, and calling out what she sees as his weird behavior."
Democratic strategist Zac Petkanas explained, "The Harris campaign has clearly seen that the more people remember what the four years under the Trump presidency was like, the more they run away from it. Not the nostalgia they sometimes feel. But actually what it was like to live through that.”
The report also notes that, by throwing Trump's words in his face and mocking him, Harris stands a good chance of getting "under his skin," leading him to make more outrageous statements that will be deployed against him.
