CNN's Chris Wallace said on Friday that some of his former colleagues on Fox News appeared visibly uncomfortable when Donald Trump ranted to them about the network airing negative ads about his campaign.

While discussing questions about the 78-year-old Trump's mental acuity, Wallace argued that some of the president's recent ramblings have been cause for concern, including the ones he delivered on Friday's edition of "Fox & Friends."

"As people get older and diminished, there's something called disinhibition, basically that they lose their inhibitions, they lose their filters," he said. "Trump was on 'Fox & Friends' this morning and he said, 'You know where I'm going after I leave you guys?... I'm going up to meet Rupert Murdoch and I'm going to tell him that he shouldn't have any ads that are attacking me."

Wallace said that while it was reasonable for a presidential candidate to think such a thing, saying it out loud is a whole different story.

"I'm not sure it made sense," he said. "And you can tell from the discomfort of the 'Fox & Friends' anchors that they were not pleased that this was being shared, that Trump was going to be talking in a few minutes to Rupert Murdoch."

In addition to complaining about negative ads on Fox, Trump has also complained that Fox is inviting on representatives from Vice President Kamala Harris's presidential campaign.
