Donald Trump on Sunday took to a McDonald's restaurant, where he handed patrons their orders through the drive-thru window and mocked Vice President Kamala Harris, but his critics did not buy it.

Trump's campaign sent him to McDonald's because of Harris having worked there in college. Trump has repeatedly accused his Democratic opponent of lying about working at McDonald's, in large part because the job wasn't listed on her later resume for a legal job.

Trump jabbed Harris while standing in the drive-thru window, saying he has now worked there for 15 minutes longer than the V.P. did. He also conducted an interview view the window, during which he bragged about the size of the crowd that came to see him at the event.

Mike Madrid, a longtime anti-Trump Republican strategist, mocked the ex-president:

"Donald McDonald? I liked the clown with less make-up better," Madrid said , referring to the restaurant's "Ronald McDonald" clown mascot.

Warren Gunnels , majority staff director for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), chimed in :

"Today, is a good day to remember that Trump would veto a $15 minimum wage & legislation making it easier for McDonald's workers to join unions. In Denmark, where they have strong unions, the minimum wage is $22 and a Big Mac is 3 cents cheaper. Welcome to corporate greed, boss."

Longtime conservative pundit and activist Bill Kristol said , "The Biden economy is so strong businesses are willing to hire convicted felons out on bail."

Trump's own niece, Mary Trump, weighed in on a video of Trump watching a McDonald's worker make the fries.

"Working at a fast food restaurant is incredibly hard work—which is why Donald still isn’t doing it," Mary Trump said.

Tara Setmayer, Seneca Project co-founder and former GOP communications director, said , "This reeks of desperation." She also asked, "Where's his hairnet."

A group of Republicans and conservatives who have consistently opposed Trump, called the Lincoln Project, also added, "Good practice for his next job in the prison kitchen."
