Two teens injured in UTV crash
RAY COUNTY, Mo. -- Two teenagers sought treatment for minor injuries after a UTV crash in Ray County Thursday afternoon, July 4, 2024. The report by the Missouri Highway Patrol says the 15 year old driver from Boynton Beach, Florida, and his passenger, a 16 year old male from Lawson crashed on Nottingham Road, East of Silvey Road. Apparently the driver made a hard left turn and the UTV rolled onto it's passenger side.
Buck takes on Willim for county coroner
Current Ray County Coroner, Bart Willim is being challenged by newcomer Andrew Buck. The Richmond News reached out to both candidates to ask them questions. BACKGROUND Buck: 45, of Richmond, has an associate degree in applied sciences, mortuary science, from Kansas City, Kansas Community College. Orrick man posts bond, multiple charges
An Orrick man has posted bond while facing two felony charges and three misdemeanors. Ian N. List, 23, is charged with unlawful possession, transport, manufacturing, repair, or sale of an illegal weapon; resisting or interfering with an arrest for a felony; exceeding the posted speed limit by 26 miles per hour or more; operating a motor vehicle with visionreducing material applied to the windshield or excess vision-reducing material applied to the side window and first-offense driving while revoked or suspended. List’s arrest was initiated by Ray County Prosecuting Attorney Camille A. Johnston, who requested the issuance of a warrant through Ray County Court, following the standard legal procedures. “Court finds that sufficient facts have been stated to show probable cause to believe that a felony has been committed,” said Eighth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Lori J. Blackwell, Pearce challenge incumbent Childers in sheriff showdown
In a highly contest race Gary Blackwell and Geremy Pearce take on incumbent, Scott Childers for the position of Ray County Sheriff. The Richmond News asked the candidates questions. BACKGROUND Blackwell: Age 53, of unincorporated Ray County near the Excelsior Springs area, has an associate in applied science and is a current sergeant at Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
