‘The end of an era’: Monroe Fire Chief Terry Williams retires
MONROE, La. (KNOE) - After serving the City of Monroe as fire chief for 36 years Terry Williams is retiring. The city announced his retirement in a press release with Mayor Friday Ellis saying in part, “The retirement of Chief Terry Williams marks the end of an era for the Monroe Fire Department.” Mayor Ellis continued by saying, “His leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment to the safety of our community will leave a lasting mark. It's all over but the moving for Bossier City’s iconic Lucky Palace Chinese restaurant. The restaurant is making a big change, leaving its current location at the intersection of Live! Shreveport’s Community Development Department, the Caddo American Job Center, G-Unit Studios, and KMJJ are announcing the first-ever 24-Hour Temp Workforce Registration Event. It’s scheduled to start Tuesday, July 9 at 12 p.m. and end Wednesday, July 10 at 12 p.m. The event will be held at the Shreveport Convention Center, located at 400 Caddo St. in downtown Shreveport.
