READINGTON – A plan to build 80 apartments, all of them affordable units, is scheduled to be heard by the township Planning Board on July 8.

Three Bridges Holding, part of Conifer Realty, will be seeking approval for the development of the vacant 20-acre property that fronts on northbound Route 202 and backs on Railroad Avenue west of High Street in the Three Bridges section in the southwestern corner of the township.

The plans call for seven residential buildings and a 3,590-square-foot community building.

    The community will have 14 one-bedroom units, 45 two-bedroom units and 21 three-bedroom units.

Access will be from Route 202.

The project is part of a redevelopment plan adopted by the Township Committee in November 2022 to help Readington meet its affordable housing goal.

The property is owned by the township.

Conifer, with its New Jersey office in Mount Laurel, owns and manages more than 15,000 multifamily apartments in 10 communities in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.

This will be Conifer's second affordable housing project in the Route 202 corridor.

Conifer developed the Red Rock Preserve affordable apartments at the intersection of Old York Road and Route 202 at the Readington border.
