Part of Springfield Ave. in Westfield to be Closed Overnight Again This Week
WESTFIELD, NJ — The Town of Westfield has been advised by Elizabethtown Gas that a portion of Springfield Avenue will be closed during overnight hours this week for utility work, Westfield Police said in a Nixle alert Monday. NJ Transit and Amtrak running again after downed wires disrupt service
Downed wires near Rahway, New Jersey caused service disruptions for New Jersey Transit and Amtrak Sunday. Services between New York City and Phialdephia were suspended just before 5 p.m. yesterday afternoon and partially restored around 6:30 p.m. Services have been fully restored, and both New Jersey Transit and Amtrak are back up and running.

Man Charged with Murder after Son Finds Mother's Body in Edison Home
EDISON, NJ — An Edison man faces first-degree murder charges following a stabbing Sunday. Joan Franklin Polanco, 37, is charged with killing Lizbeth Benitzez-Ramirez, also 37. Authorities say Polanco was seen entering the bedroom with a knife and leaving the residence shortly after the incident occurred. Polanco was arrested later Sunday in New York City. In addition to murder charges, he is also charged with third-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose. The investigation is active and continuing.
