Fall is on the horizon, and if you’re looking to change up your home decor to fully embrace all things autumn , this weekend is the perfect time to do so. Note that you don’t need to spend much time or money in order to fall-ify your home , either. These tips from interior designers prove that upgrading your space for the season can actually be quite simple. Check out six of their stylish hacks below.

    Upgrade Your Entryway

Revamp your front porch for fall ! “Consider adding autumnal accents like a fragrant wreath, hand-painted house numbers, a cozy woven doormat, or even a new mailbox,” suggests Monica Lavin , founder of Art of the Entry. “These accents can completely transform your entryway—and your mood—creating a warm and inviting spot to enjoy your coffee or pumpkin spiced latte on a crisp autumn morning.”

Plus, Lavin says, she’s found that decorating her front porch has encouraged her own family to spend more time together sitting outside savoring the season.

Switch Up Your Throw Blankets, Pillows, and More

The lightweight blanket that’s kept you nice and cozy while the AC blasts can go back into the closet until next summer. Alexis Warren , founder of Alexis Warren Interior Design, suggests bringing in a new textured throw to mark the start of autumn. Warren says that mohair is one of her favorite materials for fall.

While you’re at it, switch out your throw pillow covers and lampshades, too, if you can, suggests Kristin Harrison , the founder of Bungalow 10 Interiors. “You can make a full seasonal change with a few inexpensive swaps, and also bring in potential colors and textures you don’t normally use throughout your home,” she says.

    Rethink Your Tablescape

Opt for a moodier look when gearing the dining room up for fall. Just grab some taper candles and brass candlesticks to get started. “Swap white for burnt orange, deep reds, or earthy browns,” says Pascale de Fouchier , founder of Pascale de Fouchier Interiors.

    Bring on the Brass

Brass is a beautiful finish to use all year long but is especially appropriate for fall. “Brass accents offer an elegant, seasonal touch,” says Kara Childress , the founder of Kara Childress Inc. “Consider trading in smaller items like picture frames, candle holders, or trays for brass versions that catch the light and beautifully complement the rich tones of autumn decor.”

Pile on the Pumpkins and Pinecones

Pumpkins aren’t just for carving with the kiddos—they can make for great decor left in their natural state, too. “Seasonal decorating can sound daunting, but sometimes all it takes is a pile of pumpkins ,” comment Lisa Nakamura and Celestin McGlynn, the founders of Spec + Sage Interior Design . “If you gather pumpkins and gourds of varying sizes and colors along with some dried flowers, your hearth is sure to be festive.” Louise Hane , founder of Louise Hane Interior Design, is also a proponent of going all in with pumpkins and gourds. “The quirkier, the better," she notes.

Pumpkins and gourds aren’t just for your outdoor spaces , either. De Fouchier likes to weave gourds, pinecones, and the like into her centerpiece decor and also enjoys displaying them on the coffee table. “A simple arrangement of dried wheat or a display of small pumpkins can add rustic charm to your dining or coffee table,” Childress adds.

    Restyle Your Books

If you own a large collection of novels and coffee table books, change up your display a bit, placing those with red and brown spines front and center, de Fouchier suggests. It’s easy to shop your home for an entirely new look.
