Kendall Jenner knows there’s no better way to say goodbye to summer and hello to fall than a fresh makeover—that’s right, the supermodel just switched up her famous dark locks and went blonde for the colder season.

Jenner debuted the new golden blonde ‘do—which people are already coining “rich-girl blonde”—on Instagram in a series of images , captioned “blonded.” Following her appearance at New York Fashion Week, the model visited celebrity stylist Jenna Perry to achieve the new color, along with a chic lob haircut .

“Kendall Jenner's new blonde is a classic expensive looking blonde, and according to her colorist Jenna Perry, it’s inspired by Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy’s iconic '90s blonde locks,” says Clara Purvis , hairstylist and owner of Noordwyck Salon. “It’s heavily highlighted with a shiny golden champagne blonde hue.”

This effortlessly chic shade is sure to become the hottest hair color trend this season —read on for how to get the style.

    How to Get the Look

“When recreating this look in the salon, you’ll want to ask for a full head of highlights that consist of fine slices all over and that are stacked fairly close together,” says Purvis. “It creates a seamless, all-over blonde feel that has a subtle blended dimension.”

Be sure your toner is right, too. Purvis recommends a toner or gloss with a pale golden champagne blonde hue to really embrace the chic and understated vibe Jenner is rocking.

    Guide to Bleaching at Home

Not all of us are supermodels with access to the best hairstylists in the world (sigh), but luckily, mimicking Jenner’s rich-girl blonde doesn’t have to take rich-girl money. When coloring at home , hairstylist Dalmacia Larranaga recommends reaching for a Splat Brilliant Bleach Kit, and start by mixing the blue bleach powder with the developer included in the kit. The blue formula helps neutralize unwanted orange tones, so your blonde turns out brighter and more natural, just like Kendall’s.

Then, using the brush and bowl provided, apply the bleach to dry hair in sections. Dalmacia suggests starting at the tips and working up to the roots, since the roots process faster. This ensures an even and flawless result. If your hair is darker, you might need two sessions to reach that perfect blonde.

After processing, rinse thoroughly and ta-da! You’re officially a bleach-blonde.
