How to Make Caramel Apple Nachos at Home
Follow these four simple steps to make a mouthwatering tray of caramel apple nachos.
Step 1: Wash and Slice Apples
Start by thoroughly washing your apples to clean them, then pat them with paper towels to dry. Use an apple slicer to cut eat apple into eight slices. Discard the core.
For a full platter, we recommend slicing four to six apples. Granny Smith apples are classic, but you can use whatever other apple varieties you have on hand.
Step 2: Arrange Apple Slices
Now it's time to arrange your apple slices on a platter that is large enough to hold all the slices without stacking them.
For a circle platter, arrange apple slices in a concentric pattern, starting from the center and working your way outwards until the platter is full. For a rectangular platter, arrange the apple slices into vertical columns, each column facing the same or alternating directions.
For both methods, apples should slightly overlap one another.
Step 3: Make Melted Caramel and Drizzle It on Apple Slices
This step can be as easy as melting store-bought soft caramel candies in the microwave or saucepan, or as thorough as making caramel from scratch. Once you have made the caramel, drizzle it evenly over the apple slices.
Step 4: Add Toppings!
Add as many or as little toppings as your heart desires. For a classic approach, drizzle on some melted chocolate and add chopped nuts and mini chocolate chips. Serve and enjoy!
