I Swapped My Ugg Slippers for This Comfy Dearfoams Pair That Is Half the Cost

They’re just as comfortable and look great with nearly everything in my closet.
I’m constantly on the go, so I always need a no-fuss shoe option in my lineup that’s easy to toss on and head out the door. Although I’ve spent a fair amount of my paychecks on pricier clogs and outdoor slippers from brands like Ugg, it’s always been tough to justify the $130-plus price tag based on how tough I am on them. I end up having to replace them far more often than I’d like.
In anticipation of fall, I had the opportunity to replace my old slip-on shoes with Fireside by Dearfoams Bendigo Genuine Shearling Quilted Platform Clog . I haven’t stopped wearing the cloud-like style since adding it to my closet, and even with nonstop wear throughout September, they look like new.

Justifying expensive shoes has always been a struggle for me, especially since I know how quickly I wear them out after countless walks with my dog, treks into the city, and running errands. While I was lucky enough to receive the quilted platform clogs from the brand, I wouldn’t have hesitated to pay their under-$100 price, since they’re just as nice and even more durable than other brands I’ve bought in the past.
I own the memory foam outdoor slippers in chestnut, a fall-forward brown that looks just as nice with my loungewear as it does with more elevated outfits. The quilted exterior also adds texture that differentiates the shoes from other smooth styles in my closet. Most of my footwear is brown, and in this case, I was happy to grab them in the medium-toned color to minimize the look of scuffs and stains, but at this point, I haven’t dealt with any.
To prolong the life and quality of the shearling interior, I wear the clogs with socks to prevent unwanted odors and the fur from lifting (an issue I’ve dealt with consistently with past shearling styles). However, I have worn them barefoot in a pinch, and they’re still just as comfortable. Since I know I’m partial to pairing them with socks, especially as temperatures get colder, I sized up from my usual nine to a 10, and they fit perfectly, so keep this in mind when ordering your own pair.
