There's arguably no celeb that inspires more fashion or beauty trends (cue boyfriend blazers and glazed donut nails) then Hailey Bieber. Currently, it's her gorgeous new hair color that has everyone talking. The 27-year-old took to Instagram stories recently to debut her new 'do, with the caption "lighter for fall." According to experts, her new 'bronde' color is perfect for the season, and works for a wide variety of people.

"I'd call this a golden honey bronde—a warm, natural brown with golden highlights," says celebrity colorist Cassondra Kaeding . "It's the perfect transitional shade for this time of year and is great for those who are a little more reserved and don't want to dive into more intense fall hair colors , like copper or chocolate auburn."

Per the hybrid name, it's a choice pick for both blondes and brunettes. "By the end of the summer, hair tends to look dry and bleached out, flat and without any texture or dimension," says Chicago-based colorist Patrick Ryan . "Bronde is great for fall to add warm, rich tones to blondes, or light, shine, and more amber hues to a brunette base." He also adds that this type of bronde is a great first-step, transition color for those with brown hair who ultimately want to be blonde.

It does bear mentioning that because this hair color skews very warm, it's probably not going to be the most flattering choice for those who have naturally pink undertones in their skin, points out Tiffanie Richards , master colorist at Louise O'Conner Salon in New York City. "The warmth of the highlights can end up bringing out unwanted redness in the face."

How to Get Bronde Hair Color

Ask your colorist for golden brown balayage , suggests Kaeding. If you're really blonde, aiming for tones that play off of your natural base is a good idea, notes Ryan. If you're brunette, lighter pieces will add pop and shine. Richards adds that for deeper hues, asking for toffee or caramel shades is key. Either way, you do want the root to be a little bit darker.

That darker (or as colorists say, shadowed) root is also part of what makes this hair color super low-maintenance. (Who doesn't love that?) "Leaving the roots deeper will allow for the highlights to grow out as long as you please," says Richards, although she does add that a gloss every few weeks can help keep the tones of the highlights nice and rich.

Other important tips: Use an at-home hair mask to maintain both the health of your hair, and subsequently, the color. Ryan is also a fan of a weekly hair mask, as well as using color-safe shampoo and conditioner, and generally minimizing the use of hot tools as much as possible.
