It’s been impossible for me to decide if Love Island USA’s Rob Rausch is a hero or a villain. There are times I love him and other times when I think Taylor Swift’s song “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” may be about him. He is one of the most perplexing reality TV stars of all time.

Now that Season 6 has come to an end, let’s take a look back at some of his best and worst moments this season and decide which box suits him best.

Worst – When he told Leah they didn’t ‘have a groove’

Rob Rausch was all in on Leah Kateb until Andrea Carmona walked into the Villa in red lingerie. The Snake Wrangler couldn’t fight his attraction to the Miami Bombshell and decided to pursue her instead of his current match. It’s not a crime to date multiple people in the Love Island Villa but he deserved prison for the way he communicated this desire to Leah. He told her he didn’t feel like they had a sexual connection.

“I think you’re gorgeous. I think you’re sexy as f*ck but we don’t really have a groove,” he said.

She was upset and confused by Rob’s statement considering they had been making out all week. She spoke about the comment on the Call Her Daddy podcast in July. She told host Alex Cooper that his words brought all her insecurities to the surface.

“I’ve never felt that embarrassed in my life,” she said. “I felt so unwanted, so gross. Every bad thing I’ve thought about myself was confirmed in that moment.”

Rob explained his intention behind the comment on his episode of Call Her Daddy . He told Alex that he wanted to be fully transparent with Leah, so he didn’t waste anyone’s time.

“We didn’t know what each other wanted,” he clarified . “We made out a couple of times. It was good. It wasn’t bad…I felt like we didn’t click sexually. I found her really attractive but when we kissed and stuff it felt like she was holding back.”

Best – His body count comment

During one of the challenges, the boys were asked to write down a number they believed was too many sexual partners for a woman. The answers were…honestly offensive. Many of the men wrote down numbers that were far lower than their own body count. Rob, however, said the number was not important to him. King behavior!

    Worst- Getting Andrea’s Hopes up

When Andrea was suddenly booted from the Villa, Rob said he wanted to leave with her. However, he came to his senses pretty quickly. Give up all that screentime for a girl you’ve known for four days? No way! He received some backlash from fans who felt he gave Andrea false hope. He spoke about the premature comment on CHD, telling Alex he “100 percent” regrets telling her he would leave.

“I wish I wouldn’t have said it but in that moment, that’s what I was doing,” he said. “I was set on leaving.”

Best – His chat with Aaron about Kaylor

After the boys returned home from Casa Amor, bad boy Aaron Evans had to repair his relationship with Kaylor Martin , who had just received footage of him making out with another girl. He had a hard time discussing the situation without getting defensive but lucky for him, Rob was there to help. Rob encouraged his bud to see the situation from Kaylor’s perspective and offered him some much-needed wisdom on the situation.

Worst- Not being transparent with Liv

    @giovannabm007

I cannot WAIT for the dumping tonight ? The people have spoken and rob, aaron or liv better be going home for this game playing #loveisland #teamleah #teamserena #teamkordell #foryou #foryoupage #love #loveislandusa #loveisland2024

Liv Walker chose Rob to couple up with when she entered the Villa as a bombshell. He quickly realized they were not compatible and continued to pursue his OG match, Leah. While it’s not Rob’s fault Liv chose him, he didn’t do a great job communicating to her that he didn’t feel a connection. Instead, he made up a secret signal with Leah, so they could creep around the Villa and lock lips away from Liv. She found out about this secret plan because she saw them making out. If he wasn’t feeling the connection, he should have told her straight away.

    Best-His final chat with Leah

Rob pulled Leah for a final chat on his way out of the Villa and we couldn’t help but swoon. The two had an up-and-down relationship all season and it was sweet that he allowed her to have some closure before his departure. He told her he really cared about her and he hoped they could be friends outside of the Villa. It was nice to see them end their summer on a positive note. Good job, Rob!
