Why Caroline Stanbury Shared Facelift: ‘Rubbish’ When People Deny Having Work Done

Caroline Stanbury got a lot of praise for documenting the facelift she got in November 2023. As ever, the Real Housewives of Dubai star approached the situation with honesty and humor and got praise for doing so.

Reflecting on the decision now, the veteran reality TV star wouldn’t have done anything differently. And during a recent interview, Caroline shared why she chose to be transparent.

Caroline Stanbury only decided to get the facelift after a friend did

The RHODubai star exclusively told People that she was averse to getting a facelift initially. Looking at a series of before-and-after photos had Caroline feeling confused.

“You get handed books [with pictures of] 80-year-old women that suddenly look 70 or 60. And that’s not me. I couldn’t relate to them,” she explained.

“I wanted to find someone else my age,” Caroline added, “who had done it but she wasn’t looking dreadful. She just wanted to look better, right?”

It was only when seeing the results of her friend’ surgery that the Ladies of London alum was convinced. Caroline thought that podcast host Catt Sadler, “looks unbelievable” and “refreshed.”

A cost-benefit analysis suggested that “the cost of” having fillers “every year” “is a facelift.” Besides the fact that fillers made her face “rounder and rounder and bigger and bigger because I just kept pumping filler in my jawline.”

“I have a podcast which is called Uncut And Uncensored. So, if I then censor my life, what’s the point?” Stanbury explained, being transparent with fans. “Also, I’m on a reality TV show. This is my reality.”

She added, “I don’t want women to see me and think at 48, I look like this and they look like s—t. It’s an unnatural thing.”

Caroline Stanbury didn’t want fans to expect the same results unless they worked with “a very clever surgeon”

Caroline had a deep plane facelift with excess eyelid skin removed. She also admitted to getting Botox regularly on her forehead.

“People’s necks go. You can’t suddenly have this baby-smooth, soft skin and think that this is natural. You’re telling people that skin looks like this and theirs doesn’t. That something’s wrong with them, which doesn’t make any sense,” the veteran Bravolebrity said.

Ultimately, Caroline felt a responsibility to her fans. So they had realistic expectations about their own aging process.

“It’s rubbish,” she said. “That’s not what skin looks like in your forties unless you’ve been yanked within an inch of your life by a very clever surgeon.”
