Paige DeSorbo Almost Quit Summer House Before She Began: ‘I’m Way Too Sensitive’

Summer House has truly evolved throughout its eight seasons (and counting) on Bravo. We went from watching a group of young, single folks blow off steam in the Hamptons on the weekends to studying full-blown reality stars navigate marriage, careers, and beyond. However, sending it to the max is always a part of the equation.

Paige DeSorbo has been the voice of reason since she first joined Summer House during the show’s third season. Paige is the confessional queen and is always ready to fight for her friends. While it’s hard to imagine the current iteration of the show without Paige, it was almost a very real possibility.

Paige DeSorbo had second thoughts about Summer House

In an interview with People , Paige looked back on her journey at Summer House. She even revealed that when she first joined the show, she had second thoughts about jumping into the reality TV game. “When I first got the call, I remember calling my dad, crying, and being like, ‘I actually can’t do this. I’m way too sensitive. If someone doesn’t like me on the show, off the show, I won’t be able to handle it,’ ” Paige said.

Apparently, we have Paige’s dad to thank for pushing her to pursue her reality TV career.  “He said, ‘Do it for one year. If you hate it, you never have to go back, but at least you’ll know,'” Paige explained. “And that’s what put me in the mindset to actually film the first season. And then by the second weekend, I was like, ‘I love it.’” Well, it’s good news for all Summer House fans that Paige didn’t succumb to her nerves and back out of the show before it started. Truly, it would not be the same Summer House we know and love today.
