Melissa and Joe Gorga’s 20th Wedding Anniversary: Sweetest Moments Together

Even though Joe Gorga and Melissa Gorga have had one hell of a rollercoaster ride when it comes to their time on the Real Housewives of New Jersey , the fact remains that they love each other endlessly. As fans have watched outside family members try to break up their love, they have stood the test of time. Even amid cheating allegations, Joe and Melissa have always remained committed to making their vows stick.

The duo are embarking on their 20th wedding anniversary, and I want to take a little look back at how far they’ve come. Mel and Joe tied the knot back in 2004 when she was an aspiring teacher. Both Joe and Melissa make sure to have quality time together and have always been their one another’s ride or die.

The engagement

Even though Bravo cameras were not rolling for this once-in-a-lifetime moment, Melissa gushed about it to The Daily Dish . The mother of three revealed, “It was just special, it was different, and he surprised me. I thought I was just going somewhere for my birthday. I opened the door, and he was inside the room with flowers, and he wasn’t even supposed to be there.” The Envy store owner went on to tell her husband, “My best day with you was definitely the day you asked me to marry you. Cause you surprised me. I like surprises. You really haven’t surprised me in a while. I need a new surprise. Step up your game!”

Is that you, Snooki?

Who could forget the Season 3 scene, which showed Melissa as a sexy cat and Joe as a guidette? While wearing a bandanna tied around his head, Joe slid into a gold shimmer mini dress, which somehow didn’t totally have Melissa running in the other direction. Now, that is true love. Melissa honestly stated, “I’m putting on this sexy cat outfit. I’m turning you on. Can you turn me on?” This was one of the couple’s lighter moments and showed how young and fun they are.

Joe, the chef

After giving Melissa hell for weeks about wanting to get out of the house and have her own life, Joe did something no one thought he’d ever do. He cooked a proper romantic dinner for his wife. This moment showed that he was an old dog that could learn new tricks. As Melissa was left stunned, Joe noted that dinner was for “the best of the best.” As Real Housewives of New Jersey fans are well aware Joe does know how to give a good compliment. Joe knew he had done wrong when he stated, “You make the crumbs, and I make the cake.” So, the dinner was a nice way of apologizing. In his confessional, he even gushed that he was “proud of her.”

Move over, boys

In a pretty sweet moment, Melissa went on to a work site to visit Joe. After talking about a possible tanning ad, Joe has his wife gear up to help demolish a few buildings. Joe and Missy G seemed to be having the time of their lives as he watched his wife get down and dirty. It was also nice to see Melissa show her sons that she could literally do anything. Perhaps the funniest moment was watching Melissa chase/stall the machine as she chased her husband, who was running for his life.

Melissa calls out Joe

Melissa may be a semi-traditional housewife, but she isn’t afraid to call it as she sees it when it comes to her hubby. While on a cast night out Joe was still upset about getting a prank phone call and wanted his ego stroked just a bit. As Melissa tried to pay him a compliment, Joe brushed it off, leaving his wife to note, “He’s so high maintenance.” The statement was pretty ironic since we’ve seen Mel be gifted a Rolex on a Christmas tree branch. But it just goes to prove these two have a lot in common. We can’t wait to see what the next 20 years of marriage bring.
