Who Is New RHOSLC Housewife Bronwyn Newport?

The women of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City are always on time to deliver a new season. Not once have they disappointed fans by refusing to film. Back for Season 5 are Lisa Barlow, Heather Gay, Angie Katsanevas, Meredith Marks, Whitney Rose, and Mary Cosby. But with the axing of Moncia Garcia , aka Reality Von Tease, the franchise needed a new face. Cue Bronwyn Newport .

There’s a new snowflake holder on RHOSLC

Bronwyn is a close friend of Lisa’s, so it makes sense that the Vida Tequila owner brought her into the inner circle. According to the Bravo press release, “Bronwyn arrives in couture with her over-the-top fashion and a sense of humor as sharp as the diamonds she wears. A longtime friend of Lisa Barlow, Bronwyn makes a splash with the ladies with her outrageous, fabulous, and confrontational style.” I do hope she can bond with Mary over her ostentatious fashion choices.

According to Bronwyn’s Bravo bio, she is “passionate about couture, art, and a first-class lifestyle.” The newbie is a Mormon who, like Good Time Girl Heather, attended Brigham Young University. The press release noted, “While raising her daughter, Gwen, as a single mother, she worked in finance before marrying Todd, who’s 26 years her senior. Although she and Lisa have been friends over the years, she quickly learns that her old friend may not support her in the way she wants.” A fight with Lisa already? I’m physically shaking!

Was Bronwyn Newport kicked out of the LDS church?

In her Instagram bio, Bronwyn shares that she is a fashionista, an NBA fan, an avid surfer, and a proud doggie mom. The mother of one also enjoys a Dr. Pepper, pandas, and drag. Bronwyn is a well-rounded choice as the newest housewife, as she has an interest in all things. Bronwyn became pregnant while she was a student at BYU and was ultimately ousted from the church. It is unclear if the 39-year-old is still a practicing Mormon. If she is friends with Lisa, she very well could be “Mormon-ish.”

But according to Bronwyn’s website , there is more to her than meets the eye. She is a successful Broadway producer. She was a huge part of the revival of Cabaret. And Playbill recently announced she would be a part of the Alexandra Billings Autobiographical Musical. Bronwyn is also a liberal political activist who enjoys leveraging her “influence to champion progressive causes and social justice initiatives.”

How does the rest of the RHOSLC cast feel about Bronwyn Newport?

Bronwyn’s voice can be heard yelling at the intro of the trailer, saying, “We were friends! How could you do this to me?” But to whom she is yelling at is still a mystery. The clip then goes to Lisa, saying, “Bronwyn is everything you could want in a friend. She’s funny, she’s witty. She’s got the best wardrobe.” But not everyone on the cast seems to trust the new girl. In her confessional, Heather adds, “Bronwyn is not here to make friends. And I don’t trust her.” It’s okay Heather, literally no one trusts you either sweetie.

The following clip shows Bronwyn talking to a woman who looks like Mary, asking, “You don’t want a hug from me, do you?” It’s clear the mother of one is not afraid of any OG and won’t be backing down any time soon. Being afraid of Mary would be – a choice since she’s relatively easy to take down if anyone wants to be bothered to do so. Later in the trailer, Heather is caught yelling at the newest housewife, shouting, “You’re going to need to get all your words in order with all of this group because you have been telling everybody a different story.” But B calmly replies, “If you don’t want my support, you don’t have to take it.” Also, if anyone knows about telling different stories it would be Heather the Black Eye Expert.

I can’t help but feel we have a live wire with Bronwyn. If she is pushed to her limits, she is definitely going to stir things up and possibly cause an avalanche or two.
