Why RHONJ’s Dolores Catania and Paul Connell Nearly Split

Dolores Catania was able to successfully remain “Switzerland” by maintaining relationships with members of both the Teresa Giudice AND Melissa Gorga factions at the conclusion of Season 14 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey . However, a recent thing did almost come between her and her boyfriend of three years, Paul “Paulie” Connell .

According to Dolores, she and Paulie were on the brink of relationship ruin due to a stressful, irritating change she was going through.

RHONJ’s Dolores said she and Paulie “almost” split while she was going through menopause

Dolores was a guest on Sirius XM’s Jeff Lewis Live on Friday. Surprisingly, she shared that she and Paulie had almost split. And no, it wasn’t because he’s STILL technically married to someone else after separating over a decade ago and doesn’t seem to have a plan to change that any time soon.

According to 53-year-old Dolores, her recently going through menopause put a big strain on her and Paulie’s relationship. Apparently, her hot flashes almost caused their love to run cold.

Dolores revealed, “Menopause is such a thing. I’m thinking of going more deep [sic] into it and maybe getting some more menopause products for women. Because I lived it. Me and Paul almost broke up over it. The heat, the thermostat. And it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t discriminate.”

Dolo finding a new stream of income through menopause products might be a good backup plan. In the same interview, she touched on the increasingly likely prospect of a RHONJ cast shakeup – that may or may not include her removal from the show.

She shared that she would prefer that the cast remains the same, but is “very realistic” about the likeliness of a huge change, so she’s been bracing herself.

“I don’t like building myself up for a fall. And every year I’ve told myself it’s over, I’m not getting called back. No matter what the season looked like,” she said.
