Mary Cosby’s RHOSLC Season 5 Confessional Photo Edit Shocks Fans

Mary Cosby just drew a bit of attention from Real Housewives of Salt Lake City fans with some Facetune shenanigans. For those unaware, Facetune is an app that automatically touches up photos.

When it comes to pictures of people, Facetune will soften a person’s features and wrinkles. Or, sometimes, it will outright remove the wrinkles. As such, the app is popular with many Housewives and celebrities in general.

While it might be easy to clown on Mary, let’s not forget the culture that encourages moves like hers. Whether the motivation came from the reality TV complex, the viewers, or from within, you can see Mary’s edit below.

Mary Cosby’s fans encourage her to drop Facetune

On September 3, Mary took to Twitter with a screenshot of the upcoming RHOSLC Season 5. She showed fans one of her confessional looks, featuring a shining red dress and red flower earrings. The picture drew a great deal of support. Tamra Judge replied to her, writing, “Looking beautiful, Mary!”

Similarly, the Bravo Twitter account replied, “We must confess: we love this look! ?” Other everyday fans also voiced their support, with replies such as, “Okay but face card never declines!” However, it didn’t take long for fans to notice that the image had clearly been altered. Most Twitter users pointed to Facetune as the likely culprit.

One user wrote, “Auntie I ain’t recognize you! I’m seeing a bit of Mia [Thornton] from RHOP mixed with facetune i- you look fab without!” Another wrote, “God works hard, but @facetune works harder.” Another user wrote, “Now Mary CHILL with the faceapp,” and posted the original version of the screenshot (which Twitter marked as sensitive content for some reason? What? Hello? Garbage app).

Indeed, Mary looked beautiful even without the editing. It’s kind of a shame that Mary felt the need to edit in the first place. Here’s hoping her self-esteem can ride high over all else and that fans can find it in themselves to be kind.
