Real Housewives of Potomac fans were shocked when Candiace Dillard Bassett dropped the news that she was headed for the exit door. She had been feuding with the Green-Eyed Bandit,s Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon. After the Season 6 reunion, Gizelle and Candiace’s hubby, Chris Bassett , chatted alone and this incident triggered Gizelle. Of course, Candiace was furious that Gizelle hinted that Chris made her feel uncomfortable in some way. Meanwhile, Candiace slammed Robyn for hiding her husband, Juan Dixon’s, alleged infidelity. After all this drama, Candiace is finally revealing why she called it quits.

Candiace Dillard Bassett was tired of “beefing with the devil” and so made the choice to exit RHOP

Candiace also announced that she and her husband were expecting a baby boy . The RHOP alum underwent IVF treatments to conceive. And the happy couple’s son is due this fall.

Recently, Candiace was a guest on the According to Blake podcast and opened up about why she decided to leave RHOP. After six seasons of delicious reads, Candiace was prepared to exit after certain people who worked on the production crew made her feel unsafe. She also didn’t want to bring her baby into the environment created by reality TV.

Then Candiace threw in a quote from Tamar Braxton , who famously only “wants beef with the devil.” Candiace said, “I can’t be beefing with the devil, talent, and the people whose job it is to protect us and I started to just not feel safe.”

Plus, there was a deeper motive for Candiace. When Gizelle accused her husband of making her “uncomfortable,” Candiace confronted the camera people and producers, smashing the fourth wall. At this time, Candiace was attempting IVF, and she blamed these events for the failure of her first egg retrieval.

I will certainly miss Candiace on RHOP, but I’m glad that she is doing what is best for her family, and new baby. Maybe this is just a pause (don’t hate me, Dorinda Medley) for Candiace.

Past seasons of The Real Housewives of Potomac are streaming on Peacock.

TELL US – WILL YOU MISS CANDIACE ON RHOP? DO YOU THINK THAT SHE WILL EVER RETURN TO THE SERIES?

So glad she left. She is the most vial person ever. For a former beauty queen she sure does not act like one.
